The official VX National Governing Body for Scotland
Scotland winning the inaugural World Cup in 2007
Welcome to the website of the official National Governing Body for VX in Scotland.
Scotland has a long and proud history in VX, having been part of the sport since its earliest days. Under the first administration the sport was growing in Scotland, won the VX World Cup twic, had a Youth V2 (singles) World Champion and a Senior V2 World Champion, and was regarded in the VX community as a leading force in the sport.
Unfortunately, under a different, later administration the sport lost its international coach, then its international squad, reduced to a single club and then those officers stood down to leave the sport rudderless in Scotland.
We are now seeking people who want to make their mark and work with us and Global VX to re-establish Scotland's position within the VX community.
For a club it is very easy to get started - you only need three people, two VsitX, three balls, a pair of tally counters and access to a squash court. That is how many clubs start - get in touch and have a chat with us. We have experience of getting things started all over the world and have everything you need.
The four cornerstones of VX are honesty, integrity, respect and sportsmanship. The sport has a thriving international community and new NGBs across the world are being established with a resulting increase in international competition.
We have access to some of the most experienced, approved and affiliated coaches and trainers who deliver all over the world. We can provide training for teachers and also NGB coaching qualifications recognised and accepted throughout the VX world. Contact Stirling Harpur for more information
If you think you want the chance to coach or play internationally or want to be involved in any way please contact the head of VX UK, Stirling Harpur on firstname.lastname@example.org
Position Statement from Global VX
We have received the following position statement from Global VX:
<<We have been asked about the unaffiliated NGBs namely England VX and Scotland VX that have purportedly been set up in Scotland and England.
These bodies have been set up by a small disaffected break-away faction of our former members, who are deliberately seeking to undermine and disrupt the existing VX structure.
For the avoidance of doubt, they do NOT speak for the established and recognised relevant VX bodies, namely VX England, VX Scotland, Global VX or any other authorised and affiliated body.
They are evidently offering training and qualifications, but that training and those qualifications are not recognised or authorised by the official VX governing bodies.
We invite you to treat any criticisms or claims that you may receive from the representatives of these breakaway groups with extreme caution and we ask that any approaches that you may receive from them are reported immediately to us, as we are collating details of their activities for the purposes of taking legal action to curtail their interference.
Should you have any genuine queries or concerns then please contact Global VX (www.globalvx.org) or write or speak to Paul Hildreth (email@example.com, 07790 351534)>>
